Following architectural education at Manchester University, Ashley worked for a wide range of practices in Derbyshire, Manchester and London before joining Provan & Makin in 1996.

He has worked extensively on commercial and residential projects, and has a particular interest and expertise in bar and restaurant design.

As a keen advocate of the role of architect in the City, Ashley is on the committee of the Manchester Society of Architects and tutors at the Manchester School of Architecture.
